A CALL TO ACTION: College Democrats of America, Pass a Resolution Condemning the Uyghur Genocide
UPDATE 4/5/2021: By unanimous consent, the College Democrats of America’s National Council passed our resolution. Thank you very much to everyone involved in the drafting/editing process and to those who supported the effort ahead of the vote.
To my fellow College Democrats,
The ongoing genocide of the Uyghur people of East Turkestan/Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region is undoubtedly one of the worst crimes against humanity of the 21st century and our continued silence is immoral. We, with whatever limited influence we may hold, have an obligation to speak out, show solidarity with the Uyghur people, and push our Democratic leaders to do more. The Trojan Democrats have authored this resolution, to be voted on at the National Council meeting on April 5th, 2021, and would appreciate your support ahead of the vote.
